The snow has about stopped and we have between 12 and 18 inches. Wow-wee!!
Unfortunately not everyone could sleep in this morning. No, some people had a purpose, nay, a calling, to brave the roads. You see there were some sick children out there at Cincinnati Children's hospital, and my wife had to get there to help them. We knew what had to be done.
It took two strong men and a snow shovel about 45 minutes to dig the car out, but once we did we were off...at about 25mph on the interstate. There were some tense moments when we didn't know if we could make it. Tires spinning futilely in a treacherous intersection. But we found a way through.
Little did I know that we were breaking the law the whole time.
Hamilton county is on a Level 3 Snow Emergency. "But, What's that?" you say. It means, and I quote, "you can be arrested or ticketed if you drive except for emergencies or absolute necessities." Now we didn't get to test whether or not getting Betsy to work was an "emergency" or and "absolute necessity", but I have my doubts. Of course the hospital certainly thought it was an "absolute necessity", because they told her, point blank, you cannot call in today.
But in the end everything worked out fine, and hopefully the roads aren't as bad when I pick her up tonight.
Oh, and we dropped my van keys in the snow, and we can't find them. Great start to the day.
