The Great Pop vs. Soda Controversy

Using the World Wide Web to gather and process data from across English-speaking North America, the creator of this site intends to plot the regional variations in the use of the terms "Pop" and "Soda" to describe carbonated soft drinks.

I thought this was pretty interesting due to my move from a soda or coke speaking area to one which is pop-dominated.

I also found this site interesting. I spent some time checking out different states. I wasn't even thinking about it and went into a patient's room and asked if they would like a soda...and when he said yes I asked gingerale or cola. And it hit me...I actually do say soda and, therefore, fit the Virginia norm. I find that to be a hoot. That was fun Lew, thanks. Mum
