A Trip Through the Clouds

Flying through the air in a lawn chair kept afloat by over a hundred helium balloons. What an amazing trip it would be. An Oregon man did just that recently. He flew 193 miles in 9 hours to fulfill a childhood dream.

Part of me wants to do it, but part of me ponders the fall to earth.

Lew,
When we recently visited the Grand Canyon (which averages one mile in depth), I calculated that, in the absence of air resistance, a body would fall one mile in 18 seconds, and hit the ground at 400 miles an hour!
A scary thought, but nevertheless we found some daredevils there, standing at the very edges of cliffs, etc.

It does seem like a wonderful idea...just floating along.
Your Aunt Pat has been up in a hot air balloon and loved it.
I have wanted to go up in a glider,
But the best of all would be to be able to just fly...then I wouldn't have to be afraid of FALLING OUT and DOWN.
