Cheviot: My New Hometown

So, I'm becoming more enamored with the whole idea of Cheviot. Some of you may recall my initial dislike for this strange little city right outside of Cincinnati proper. The yards were too small, the folks were too redneck, and it was just a matter of time before the whole place slid down the hill into poverty and neglect.

Well, I'm beginning to see the light. Cheviot is a dying breed. Its a lost Mayberry on the west side of Cincinnati. You can quite literally walk to the hardware store, the drugstore, and the local library. We have our own world, complete with police, fire, and garbage pickup. I find it amazing! And I can't wait to learn more about it.

I found this article from the Cincinnati Enquirer to be a good start.

Here is Cheviot's website. It's pretty bad, but what can you expect from a small town.

One of these days soon, I'm going to go on a photo safari through Cheviot. I think it will prove to be very illuminating.

Great to hear you're growing to love the neighborhood Lew. Our "new" home is in a great location too. We can walk to the post office, the park, a corner market and -ahem- the local irish pub from our house. It's great to have that small-town feel to your neighborhood. We can't wait to see it next time we're in the 'nati, lil bro.
