I've begun taking guitar lessons (again).
My guitar has been very lonely since my brother abandoned me. Who chooses South Carolina over Cincinnati!? OK, maybe everyone, but that's not the point. I was no longer playing guitar, because I had no teacher to guide me and punish my laziness.
Now I do. I'm taking lessons at the Earl Neiheisel Studio Of Music. Mr. Neiheisel is a classical guitarist (Whit should appreciate that). Of course that means he has the freaky long nails that all classical guitarists have. I think a lot of coke-heads have them, too. Is there a connection there? Hopefully not.
I'm really excited to be learning again. My job is fun, and I do learn a lot every day, but this is a different part of the brain. Its music, its fun, and it doesn't involve me sitting in front of a computer. Awesome :)
So once I have something great, maybe I'll post an audio file or two.

I was just checkin out some blogs, when I found yours..
You need some advice about learning guitar..? I got a few..
1-Don't let the teacher teach you notes, that's totally useless.. I swear it.. lol
2-The teacher would be very usefull if he could practice with you on timing with you on Chords or rythm, and him on solo.. (P.S: Chords rules are useless..) Let him also teach you the name of each chord in the fret board.. Not counting the extreme chords.. Just the main majors and minors..
3-Find a friend who plays already and play something with him.. Preferably you on chords and him/her on slow solo's, you'd pick up easily if you guys hang out together.. Trust me..
4-Use tabs, the harder the better, and don't keep playing the same tab, change the song every 2 days, play short parts even..
I've become a v.good guitarist within less than 2 year from following those rules..
G.Luck..
Buy Guitar Hero for PS2. It helps with timing and is fun.
