The Story of Oxford, Iowa
In 1984 Photographer Peter Feldstein took photos of every resident of the small town of Oxford, Iowa. Twenty years later he went back and did it again. A few had died or moved away, but the majority still lived in Oxford. The photos show how long and short a time 20 years can be. For some not much has changed, and for others too much has changed. In addition to the photos Mr. Feldstein enlisted the help of Stephen G. Bloom to gather the stories behind the faces. Here's the link.
Snapshots in time are powerful. To look back and see yourself, and remember your dreams and aspirations makes you take stock of where you are. Hopefully you've made some progress, but either way it will make you think, "how did I spend my life?" and "did I make the right decisions?"
On a related note, check out FutureMe.org. You can write an email that will be delivered to you in the future. You can set the date for as soon or as far away as you wish, just make sure you still have that email address.

I get to go to Des Moines right after we get back from OBX. Maybe I should see how far Oxford is from Des Moines and take some pictures.
