My suggestion to Playstation fanatics. Give it up and move to the Xbox 360 when it comes out.
The new Xbox 360 was just introduced yesterday on a rather lame MTV special. The real introduction is best done through this video.
The great part about the Xbox is its continued reliance upon Apple and the Macintosh. First off, the success of the first Xbox was a direct result of the hit game Halo. Well, Halo was designed by Bungie studios; which, before it was bought out by Microsoft was a Mac-only gaming studio. Halo was first concieved as a Mac game. Secondly, the new Xbox 360 is touted as having the newest, fastest, best hardware available. Guess what the hardware is. The PowerPC chip, the same type of chips in all Apple products. This all just continues Microsoft's motto of copying everything from Apple, and rebranding it as a Microsoft inovation.
BUT, I still think the Xbox 360 looks like an amazing gaming machine. It won't be available till the end of the year, but Sony isn't expected to unveil their PS3 until next year. Of course with all this Xbox buzz, Sony is probably going to try to ramp things up and put something out there by the end of the year. Haste makes waste though.

Guy! Check out the Nintendo Revolution! Online gaming and the ability to play old NES, SNES , and N64 games!
That complete backwards compatibility is pretty amazing.
You download the games and play them. I hope that someone says "Hey, why don't we make Mario 64 playable online?"
Oh Glory of glories....
