Another Trip to the Burg

Betsy and I took another trip down to Williamsburg this last weekend. It was for my sister Kaitlin's high school graduation. So lets start at the beginning.

The plane ride was horrible. Lets just say never, never use US Airways. You'll regret it. I know we do. Perhaps that whole debacle will get its own post.

Once we got to Williamsburg we took a ride on the colonial parkway. Vivian let us borrow her convertible, so that was a lot of fun. I had forgotten how nice a drive that is. Beautiful views. We stopped off and took a little walk. We saw some really awesome root structures (I call them root forts) that formed after the strong storms that beat up the Virginia coast awhile back.

On Saturday we had the graduation festivities. The actual graduation was alright. Of course you only go to see one person and hear one name, so the rest was a bit boring. Thank goodness there were some beach balls and airhorns to keep me entertained. Of course not nearly the chaos that was my graduation. What can I say, we ruined it for everyone. There was a party afterward at Dad's house. Most of the family was there, good food too, so all in all it was great.

Sunday morning we took the ferry over to Surrey for breakfast at the Surrey house with the family. Its always fun to take the ferry, and the food was great. We made some plans to try to have a big family get-together around Christmas. Its always good to have something to look forward to.

So check out some photos, already!!

I always enjoy the photos. The group photo with the graduate was especially good.
Great birthday pics, too...and fantastic cakes. My next birthday I want one of those cakes with a BIG 55 on it.
Happy Birthday a bit late to Chris (24), Theresa (15) and Sammy (2).
